About the event

Salvador Ramos, Chen Jizhi, Payton S. Gendron. Names that caused outrage worldwide in the past month. Suspects for the Robb Elementary School shooting, the Tangshan Female Beating, and the Buffalo Shooting respectively.

Do these horrifying events they committed count as hate crimes? By law, only two of the three do.

What are hate crimes? What factors/elements should we take into consideration when contemplating the rationality of an enhanced punishment? What should legal institutions do to prevent hate crimes?

How have these events changed your opinion on the issue of a hate crime?

Some food for thought.
